Eco-Friendly Soil Pavement
SOIL-ONE:
Description: An eco-friendly soil hardener used for soil pavement, offering an alternative to asphalt/cement concrete pavement.
Types of Pavement:
Soil Pavement: A temporary method for unpaved roads or trails, using only a soil hardener on the base soil, designed for biodegradation.
Soil Concrete Pavement: Constructs high-compressive-strength roads for vehicles by mixing soil with ECOBINDER or soil, cement, and a hardener. It achieves compressive strength similar to existing asphalt or cement pavement.
Components:
Soil Hardener: A copolymer type eco-friendly liquid product made with EVA resin, Latex resin, and other ingredients.
Application Areas: Roads, trails, sidewalks, parking lots, and slopes.
Adjustable Strength: Surface strength and durability can be adjusted by varying mixing ratios of hardener & water and soil & solidifier (or cement).
Proven Quality: GRS products demonstrated superior quality in flood conditions where the natural ground under soil concrete pavement was washed away, but the pavement itself remained undamaged.
Construction Manual (Overseas Soil Pavement):
Soil Screening: Granite soil (including clay, silt, sand, loam) passed through a 15mm sieve is used for pavement material, while larger particles are used for the base.
Base Layer Construction: Boundary stones and plywood are installed, and screened gravel and coarse aggregate are compacted to a 10 cm thickness. This step can be omitted if the ground is firm.
Mixing and Application of Soil Stabilizer (Soil-One): Water is mixed six times the weight of Soil-One, and then applied with power sprayers and water trucks to penetrate 10-15 cm into the soil pavement.
Compacting: After 3-4 hours, the soil pavement is compacted with a roller (at least 2.5 tons) to remove voids. A minimum of 7 days curing is required before use. For asphalt overlay, a primer (NEW-COM-PM) is applied first.
Considerations: Soil compatibility is crucial. Avoid construction during rain and cover the site with plastic for at least 2 days if rain is expected after construction. Store Soil-One and OPC indoors, away from direct sunlight and freezing temperatures.
General Notices for all products: Store and construct above 5 degrees Celsius.
